Problem:
Darkages needs write permissions to create files.
Darkages needs to be able to create the server table file.
Without this file you'll not be able to connect.
Solution 1:
Run Darkages.exe as admin.
Solution 2:
Move the entire darkages installation folder outside of Program Files. <-Recommended
Solution 3:
Run Darkages.exe in compatibility mode of an older operating system.
Character creation limit
Problem:
You can only ATTEMPT to create 4 characters at a time before being locked out for several hours.
This includes names that are already taken.
Solution 1:
Before trying to create a character try logging it first, but with an incorrect password.
The message will give you a clue about whether or not the name is taken.
(It will say incorrect password if the character already exists. If not then it's yours to create.
Solution 2:
Ask a friend to create a character for you.
Give them a list of names to try. make sure they don't hit the character limit too!.
ctrl/alt/shift bug
Problem:
If you're holding any of these keys as you tab out of darkages the key will continue to be held down forever.
Solution:
Tap ctrl, alt, shift, one at a time, so that the game can register the release of the button.
Many F5 issues
Problems:
This monster isn't taking damage.
I can't get in this door.
I can't access this temple of choosing popup.
Solution: Stand still and press F5 to refresh your character.
This will resync your character with the server, putting you where you belong.
