New Player Guide

Many have requested a better new player guide from somebody who knows what they're saying.
Everybody was preoccupied so here is mine instead.

Downloading and Installation

You can download the Darkages installer at Darkages.com -> download -> I Agree -> One of the Single Install Links.
You can also Click Here to download it directly.

Once it's downloaded run the installer and install Darkages.
I recommend changing the filepath from Program Files to my documents instead
This will reduce the liklihood of several problems you may encounter.
You can also run as admin to fix some issues.
You can now run Darkages.exe to open the game.

Creating a Character & Logging in

Click "Create" to open the character creation screen.
From here you can select a name, password, gender, and hairstyle.
Warning: You can only create or attempt to create 4 characters per 3 hours, regardless of success.
To make sure you don't get locked out of creating your first character I suggest trying to log the character name you're interested in using an incorrect password.
If the character exists it will say wrong password, otherwise this name is available for use!

Finish creating your character and click "Continue" to log in.
